digient(cues)We are excited to announce the launch of digient(cues), offering free cue music for independent film, video games, podcasts, and the like, under a Creative Commons license (CC BY-ND 3.0). Here’s why we’re doing this…

Many of us at Digient Collective are composers and sound designers, some full-time professionals with film and tv credits, and each of us makes music every single day. Oftentimes music ends up on the cutting room floor, so to speak, and a lot of it is good, just not a fit at that time for any number of reasons. These little sonic scraps end up sitting on a hard disk, collecting dust, for the most part. Other times we might be inspired by a sound, a mood, a film or a piece of music and we’ll end up with a 16-bar ambient loop, for example, but it has no place in a project, so it too might get tucked aside for a rainy day. We end up with enough content for decades of rainy days. Thus, we put our heads together and decided to start offering these clips up to other creatives, for free, and for your use in whatever you see fit, perhaps a podcast, an independent film, or a video game.  All tracks will be made available as 48kHz/24-bit wav files and available for direct download at the digient(cues) page and where you will also find a helpful FAQ, as well as the official digient(cues) playlist on Soundcloud (below).

We already have over 100 cues for you to dig through already, and we’re committing to publishing 2-3 per week, on average. If you have a special request, please get in touch at [email protected]
