The Partisan

Free Range Chickens

It's been almost a year since Digient Collective was conceived, and over the course of the last year I feel like we've done a pretty good job of getting out of the gates, so to speak. We've introduced ourselves, released a dozen or so singles, and started to build a bit of an audience. We've got a couple EPs planned for 2021, and at least one album. We'll start releasing physical media this year as well, and we're excited about the aesthetic opportunity that physical media offers. While we're excited about this stuff, it's far from the unique "thingness" I......

Introducing digient(cues)

We are excited to announce the launch of digient(cues), offering free cue music for independent film, video games, podcasts, and the like, under a Creative Commons license (CC BY-ND 3.0). Introducing Akenbak

Luis García (aka Akenbak) igient Collective is excited to announce its newest member, Akenbak, whose debut single Lift Off releases digitally worldwide on 19 February. You may know Akenbak from some of the audio-reactive videos he created for Digient, specifically the video for Daze Gates' Axiomatic. I got to know Akenbak about a year ago, before the pandemic struck and before Digient launched, and while I was first taken by his consistent creative output of......

Introducing Daze Gates

started releasing music as “Grey” in 2018 and for the first time in a long time, I was making music that I wanted to listen to. It felt special and it felt right. Prior to releasing as “Grey”, I would spend countless hours working on tracks that no one would ever get to hear. While I had other projects over the years, even a few I was proud of, I never had a genuine platform for releasing this new music. This new music was unique from music I’d made or contributed to in prior years and with bands I’d been......

Finding Our Thingness

This post is long overdue, I’ve been meaning to get to it for a while, and yet it’s also timely, in ways I hadn’t anticipated. It’s overdue, in large part, because I struggle with what good social media practitioners understand well; that to be successful with social media marketing you must be transparent, genuine, and...
